Courage Close to Home
In this video we see and hear about powerful parent-child discussions of courage and character. As the students in the class share their stories of family courage, they not only hear about the many ways people in their community have shown courage but they also learn about the sit-ins to protest racial segregation and draw parallels between the Blacks in the South and the Jews fleeing Germany. The students not only learn about one another’s families, they also learn about many forms of courage.
