What Should JT Do

In this video we see the students read with partners a chapter of the book J. T., complete a work sheet listing things that J. T. could do to protect himself from the older boys, and then share their thoughts with the class. Seeking help from a parent, staying with friends for protection, talking with the school principal, and even trying to talk with the older boys are among the solutions discussed. At the end of the video there is a brief discussion of why it was wrong for J. T., to take a radio from a car with an opened window. Several different versions of “because you’ll get caught and punished” are offered by the students.
