The Victor A. Battistich Memorial Graduate Award was established in honor of University of Missouri-St. Louis’ faculty member Dr. Victor “Vic” Battistich who passed away June 30, 2008. The criteria for nomination including self-nomination are:

  • Recipient must be a UMSL graduate student.
  • Recipient must be enrolled full time in the field of Education, Psychology or other related area.
  • Preference shall be given to a student who exhibits high quality work in Dr. Battistich’s various areas of interest, which include character education, school climate, prosocial development, prevention science, democratic values in education, and program evaluation of character or other positive youth development education programs.

Nominations, including self-nominations, must be received by the Center for Character and Citizenship by December 2, 2019, in order to be considered for the 2019 award.
