PRIMED INSTITUTE IN CHARACTER EDUCATION

FIVE DAYS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

The PRIMED Institute℠ in Character Education is a five day immersion experience in character education. It is designed for character education leadership teams from schools to spend a week together learning about character education in general and as it applies specifically to their schools. 

The Institute has three primary goals:

1. Learning about the fundamentals of effective character education

2. Team building and experiential learning

3. Action planning for the upcoming school year

KEY INFORMATION

June 24, 2024 - June 28, 2024

• The PRIMED Institute is designed as a one week immersion in character education for teams from schools (however, we invariably have a few solos).

• Facilitators are Dr. Marvin W Berkowitz and Dr. Amy Johnston.

• It is highly interactive. We only accept 30 participants so this can remain a productive, enjoyable, and interactive learning experience.

• Space is limited. The first 30 paid registrants will be confirmed.

• $449 per person; Reduced rate of $349 for early bird registration (April 14 deadline) or when groups of three or more from the same school register together. NOTE: Full refund if the Institute is cancelled.

• Graduate credit options are available.

• University of Missouri COVID-19 guidelines in place at time of the Institute will be followed.

PROGRAM HISTORY

• In 2001, Marvin Berkowitz developed the Summer Institute in Character Education which took place in St. Louis almost annually through 2019.

• In 2012, Dr. Berkowitz brought the Summer Institute to Taiwan where it had been conducted annually through 2019 through a partnership with and support from the HTC Educational Foundation.

• In 2019, the Summer Institute was renamed the PRIMED Institute℠ in Character Education. Also in 2019, the PRIMED Institute was conducted in Bogota, Colombia, in conjunction with the Co-School Institute. Since that time, the institute has also been conducted in Brazil and Mexico.
